Flight Plummets 18K Feet Over Mediterranean

A Nordwind tourist flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Crete after plummeting 18,000 feet while flying over the Mediterranean Sea. Passengers aboard the flight claim that the sudden descent was due to a stalling engine, but later reports allege that the plummeting was related to issues with cabin pressure.

Professor Dmitry Gavra, a passenger aboard the flight, said, “The pilot made no announcement to the cabin – while devices for the crew were saying ‘stall’.”

Perhaps "descends" is more appropriate than "plummets"??
