Emirates Claims Flight Diversions Can Run $600K
In 2016, Emirates logged approximately 23,000 hours’ worth of medical training for pilots and crew in preparation for in-flight medical emergencies. The carrier remarked recently that although just one flight diversion can have a price tag between $50,000 and over $600,000, Emirates remains committed to the safety of its passengers.
“We can never hope to recover the costs of a flight diversion, but the well-being of our customers is always our number one priority,” said Adel Al Redha, executive vice president and CEO of Emirates.
