Coming Soon: Ryanair Buzz to Debut This Fall

Ryanair’s branch of operations in Poland, the Ryanair Sun, is expanding by introducing more aircraft and more chartered and scheduled flights; as a result, the airline is rebranding that portion of its business starting in fall 2019, complete with a new name, a new website, new planes, and a new app.

Ryanair Sun has historically been the super-low-cost airline’s Polish branch of business, initially offering flights around Poland for tour operators on only five planes. But Sun is expanding—it currently has 17 planes, and by the summer, will have 25.

With the expansion comes a rebranding of the business. Starting in the fall, it will be named Ryanair Buzz. A bumblebee theme will follow through all the points of business, from yellow and black on aircraft exteriors to yellow and black seats with cartoon bees on the plane cabin walls. With the new planes will come a new app and website for Buzz.

“Following a successful year of growth for Ryanair Sun, we are delighted that our planes will have a new and unique branding as we launch Buzz,” Ryanair Sun CEO Michał Kaczmarzyk said in a release. “Our goal is to offer services at the highest level to both customers and tour-operators. Buzz will continue to operate scheduled and charter flights, with our fleet growing to 25 aircraft by summer 2019.”

Buzz was actually originally a KLM subsidiary, sold to Ryanair in 2004. The airline decided not to use the name until now, though.

“We are excited to launch Buzz today, and to see our newly branded aircraft appear in Poland this autumn,” Chairman of Buzz Supervisory Board Juliusz Komorek said in the release. “Over the last 15 years, Ryanair has grown to become Poland’s biggest airline, thanks to the unbeatable combination of the lowest fares, best customer service and largest route network—and we now expect that Buzz will be Poland’s No.1 airline.”
