Cathay Announces New HK-Washington Route

Cathay Pacific has confirmed that it in 2018, it will begin offering non-stop long-haul flights from Hong Kong to Washington, D.C. The flight is estimated to last fewer than 17 hours from start to finish, and will take place aboard the Airbus A350.

Not sure there is a demand to fill the larger version of A350. Time will tell. Kudo to CX for looking to expand in the mix of heavy compeition in greater China and East Asia. I wonder if UA would jump start using 787-9, but I am still skeptical of the demand.
