Branson: ‘Sexy Space Hotels’ Should Orbit the Earth

Virgin CEO Sir Richard Branson said on Monday that he aspires to have Virgin-run hotels in orbit that allow guests to take leisurely trips around the moon.

“I would love to have really sexy Virgin hotels in space, where people can go and stay in pods, and head off in little spaceships around the Moon when they wake up in the morning, and they come back to their pod in the evening,” Branson said.

Virgin’s current planned rate for future space flights is $250,000, and is good for a potential two-hour orbital flight and six minutes of zero gravity.
