$26,000 Worth of Goods Stolen From Man’s Luggage

A 39-year-old Turkish merchant flying with Emirates from Turkey to Hong Kong claims that two watches and foreign currency, valued together at around $26,000, were stolen from luggage he had stored in the aircraft’s carry-on bin. The man reported the incident to flight staff upon landing in Hong Kong. The incident is part of an increasing number of mid-flight thefts reported in recent years, and Hong Kong government statistics show at least 60 cases in 2015, up from 48 the previous year.
