In Brief: Lufthansa Facing Legal Action After Allegedly Spying on Employees, Documenting Them as “Leftist Rat,” “Weak Health” & More

Lufthansa is facing legal action after allegedly monitoring employees at Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) in secret. Reports claim Parisian authorities are planning to organize a hearing where they will listen to testimony from several of the airline’s employees who were listed in a report found in a Lufthansa manager’s office at CDG in 2013.

The five-page document contained notes about individual employees, including their medical conditions and political affiliation, which is considered illegal by French law. Nearly 50 employees were scrutinized in the report. “Weak health” and “Leftist Rat” were among some of the descriptions listed.
