Stayed 7 nights while attending a conference @ the Hawaii Convention Center & would have no qualms about going back. Though we had stayed @ the Waikiki Beach Marriott numerous times, we found our room @ this hotel quieter (with the lanai door closed, of course) than at the Marriott even though we were only on the 17th floor @ the ES vs. the 30th floor or higher @ the Marriott. Just not as much street noise @ the ES. We had a 2BR/2BA in the Aloha tower, which is the tower furthest from the beach, but looked out onto Diamond Head & a slice of the ocean if one leaned far enough out. The breakfast buffet is not the usual ES buffet, likely due to the high number of Japanese tourists who stay, but that is fine-made for a very nice change of pace. Beach/pool towels provided in the room along w/the usual ES room amenities including fridge & microwave. Unfortunately also the same annoying Hilton internet that has to be renewed every 24 hrs on the nose-this is one area where Marriott wins hands down! Did spend one afternoon @ the pool, which is on the 4th floor & shaded, somewhat, by the taller towers around it. Very short, not even 5 minute walk to the beach for anyone who wants full sun instead. Like most of Waikiki, plenty of shops & restaurants w/in an easy walk.
