This brand new hotel is a really nice full-service addition to the hospitality scene in Alpharetta.
Location
The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Alpharetta on Milton Ave and Old Canton St., which provides walkable access to a ton of bars, restaurants, and retail. I stopped by a wine shop down the block called Fermented - highly recommended! Also a really quick drive to the local Life Time Athletic.
Check In
I checked in through the app and was upgraded proactively to a studio suite (from a base king room), I assume on account of my Diamond status. I still swung by the front desk where I was greeted warmly and provided with details on valet parking ($35, I believe), the fitness center, and dining. I was told that the Diamond F&B credit is $15. They took off $18 on my folio at check out, which was a pleasant surprise.
Room
The rooms are brand new and very nice. The studio suite I was in was very spacious but did not have a door between the bedroom and living area. The bed was superb - nice, firm, and supportive. There are power and USB outlets in all the proper locations, which you'd expect for a new hotel.
While the photos I saw on the hotel website show a double vanity in the studio suite, I had just one sink. Not sure if they're all like that.
There is an Illy espresso machine in the room, which is awesome. Better than Nespresso. There were four pods: two dark roast, one regular roast, and one decaf. There were also a couple bottles of complimentary water - one still and one sparkling.
There is also an empty refrigerator.
Robes and slippers are found in the tiny wardrobe, though the robes felt fairly rough. Hopefully they soften up after more washes.
My biggest gripe about the room is the lack of lighting - it was pretty dark even in the middle of the day. There are a couple floor and table lamps in the living room, and bedside sconces in the bedroom, but neither room had nearly enough light. They should have popped some recessed lights into the ceilings...
Dining
There are two dining outlets:
Carrie's Conservatory is the main restaurant, and I had steak frites there for dinner late one night. The steak was nicely cooked to medium rare as ordered, and the fries were great (shocker!). I also had a wonderful breakfast there. The menu is varied enough to please most people, and they have a proper espresso machine. However, espresso drinks are $9 (!?!?), so I stuck with regular coffee.
There is also Roaring Social, which is a retail shop by day and speakeasy by night.
Gym
The gym is located on the 2nd floor and is tiny. It's got the basics that most people would need for a decent workout, but really only one or two people can work out at once. I didn't get a photo since there was someone in the gym when I poked my head in, and it would have been really awkward. The photo on the hotel's website is completely accurate, though.
