Check In
Arrived by Lyft around 6:30 pm and there was no wait to check in. Clerk was friendly and efficient and I was on my way up to the 16th floor in only a couple minutes.
Room
I booked 2 double beds, simply because it was cheaper than the King room, and was given an upgraded river view room with 2 beds on the 16th floor.
Overall I like the room, it's simple and the typical renovated Hilton style with a slight southwestern flair with the choice of carpet colors.
The safe in the closet is a bit odd in that it's so high up (above my head) that I couldn't actually see inside it and had to feel around for what I put in there.
Dining
Since this hotel doesn't have a lounge, eligible elites get to take breakfast in the restaurant. The restaurant is at river level and has a patio to sit on. The selection was decent and food was tasty. I loved the scrambled eggs with chorizo and the fruit was great. Good service as well.
Overall
This was my second time staying here, the first time was ~4 years ago. It's still a great hotel and I fully enjoyed the 2 night stay checking in on a Friday. Tasty breakfast, friendly staff, and the rooms are in good shape. I had no problems with my stay, but be aware the parking is expensive ($30/nt self park) and a couple blocks away. I was able to avoid this expense by leaving my car at a friends and just Uber/Lyft around for the weekend.
I still can't decide if I prefer the Palacio del Rio or the Emily Morgan Doubletree. I like both, so I generally book based on price. You can't go wrong with either property.
