Deluxe Room Villa

Introduction

This trip I took in April of the year in which I had some final Matura tests coming up, so most of the trip I would be learning. Therefore a resort was chosen in which I could learn, chill, eat and sleep.

I had never been to Teneriffa before, so I was especially looking forward to it.

Location

The hotel is located about 30 minutes away from the airport. It's surounded by palm tree plantages and there is only a small village about 2 kilometers next to it. Perfect for a full service hotel resort which you do not need to leave while staying there.

Overall

Once you exit the road to the hotel (it has it's own exit from the highway), your names get checked and you get driven to the front entrance where your luggage was immediatly taken care of. Check-In went smooth and we were then driven to our rooms which were located in the lower part of the resort, in the villa section.

What I find most stunning about the hotel is the very nice red/orange color of the building.

Room

I was in a Deluxe Room Villa, which is not located in the main building, but in the botanical garden/ bungalow area. I would definetly advise to take one of these rooms that are not in the main building, because only with these rooms you get access to the private villa pool and you get access to the El Mirador restaurant for breakfast. (Which is simply amazing, but more on that later).

The room comes complete with all the essentials (obviously), but what I really liked about it was it's height. It was about 4 meters high which makes it feel a lot more spacious.

I sadly do not have a quality picture of my room, but you can find a detailed plan on the ritz carlton webpage, however, I do have a picture of the view:

Dining

There are a lot of dining options. For breakfast I would really suggest to stick with the El Mirador (only available if you have a villa room). The eggs benedict, but also the pancakes still haunt me in my dreams they were so amazing. It's located right at the bottom on the cliff with an amazing view on the ocean. El Mirador was also one of the best lunch and dinner options. I can suggest the Tuna Tartar and also the dessert with 3 chocolate variations.

The japanese restaurant called Kabuki was also very nice. (The were still located in the main building when I visited, but where moved to the golf club just afterwards if I remember correctly).

And last but not least we have the M.B, which is the probably the most prominent and offers excuisite meals, which do come at a price.

Out of these three, the El Mirador remains my favorite. The hotel has several other restaurants, of which all are rather nice, but not worth mentioning.

Service

As mentioned in the introduction, I spent most of my time at the pool reading books, working and learning. I did often take advantage the room service to bring me lunch to the pool. I mostly ordered the Club Sandwhich and the chocolate cake for dessert, which both are on the better side, while not the best I have ever eaten. Service was always fast and friendly.

Golf Club

I did play a few rounds of golf in the Abama Golf club, which also is very nice, but can be very difficult to play. Especially the strong winds, but also the hard and very fast putting greens make for a challenging experience with a great view.

I would definetly recommend this resort to golf players, but also to people who just look for a place to relax.

PS: I am very sorry for the lack of quality pictures. I had forgotten to bring my DSLR for this trip, hence the lack thereof.
