Stats

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights August 23-25th, 2016.

Location:

The area around the hotel has a bunch of small restaurants - you just have to walk about 5-10 minutes. It is in an upscale area that is very quiet.

Checkin:

Fast and efficient. I'm a platinum 100 but the room type was not mentioned to me so I do not know if it was properly upgraded or not. It was on the club floor, which is 31 if I remember correctly.

Lounge:

Our first stop was the lounge. The lounge has amazing desserts available during the afternoon tea time. It really is an impressive spread - all kinds of juices, coffee, tea, plus really really really nice desserts. The staff was friendly too.

Room:

The rooms have amazing views where you can see the entire city. Here's a night view from our room (below).  Every single aspect of the room is very well thought out with some of the highest end finishes I've ever seen in a hotel.

Gym/Pool

As a platinum guest, the pool was free, but be warned that if you are not spg platinum, they will ask you something like $45 usd  a person to swim in it. That is plainly outrageous although it was a nice pool, but not that long. They are pretty serious about wearing a bathing cap, even if like me, you DONT HAVE ANY HAIR. I didn't work out there but saw the weightroom - it is brand new and should have everything you could need.

Breakfast

We chose to have breakfast at the restaurant - it was super nice and not crowded at all. The staff is very attentive - you can choose to have various types of Japanese breakfast as a set meal or you can choose the buffet. My wife chose the Japanese breakfast and I chose the buffet - we were both really happy. I hate food pictures (and the people who take them) but I have to admit that the  Japanese set breakfast was actually photo-worthy.

Other details:

We are travelling in Japan using backpacks so they let us keep our big bags stored there for 10 days, as we have one more night there next week before we leave Japan. The cost was a lot for points - actually the most I've ever spent on a hotel: 21,000 points per night. If I wasn't sitting on a ton of points I probably wouldn't have done that, but the only other hotel in the world that I think compares to it in the level of rooms and the view and food in the lounge and pool quality is the St. Regis in Shenzhen. But of course the St. Regis is 12,000-16,000 points in China and everything in Japan is much more expensive, so the number of points is reasonable in comparison.

Overall, the hotel is very WOW and if you are sitting on a mountain of points like I am, it can be a very cool experience for you or you and your plus 1!
