Hyatt Regency Malta is a new property which opened in the middle of Covid. (October2020).
This is very much a hotel still trying to find its way. Staff are young. Well trained but inexperienced and so lots of little issues on the service side.
I question why Hyatt allowed them to put the "Regecy" tag on the property. There is no lounge and the "upgrade" options for globalists are terrible. I burned a suite upgrade for a "junior suite". It was certainly junior. And certainly not a suite. No separate living area. No full sized couch, not even a closet. Just an open area to hang clothes.
Most (maybe all?) rooms have a balcony and higher floors can see the Mediterranean in the distance.
People will love or hate the location as it is n the heart of St, Julian's
Globalist breakfast is in the lobby restaurant. No limit was stated and I never saw a bill for breakfast. service at breakfast is painfully slow.
There are two restaurants on the property - one off of the lobby and one on the top floor the toe floor is more casual, and at the moment only open for lunch I was told that will change in the summer.
Unfortunately most of the issues here are in the design of the hotel. The Architect did not do anyone any favors in terms of supporting the brand
