Check In
Like Goldorak, I had booked the airport transfer. Our plane was delayed, but I manage to call the hotel, and the driver was waiting for us at the airport. The transfer to the hotel takes 30 minutes in a comfortable local Skoda Superb. The transfer was charged to our room.
The doorman was waiting for us in front of the hotel and he took our luggage (we only had cabin luggages).
We arrived at the hotel just before midday. Checkin was fast and friendly. We really felt like being expected.
We were asked to wait 5 minutes in the lobby, time to verify that the room was ready.
We were given our room key, drink vouchers and city maps.
I had booked an executive room. As I had just checked that the hotel was fully booked for the 3 nights if our stay and I was not expected any upgrading, I did not really listen the receptionist when she told me « You are in room 500, the ... »
Room
We went up to the fifth floor, and we were not able to find the room 500. The housekeeper saved us and showed us our room which was the dome suite.
There are only 2 suites in this hotel, and I was very impressed to be upgraded to one of the suite.
The suite is situated in the dome (just above the Ibis sign)
This suite is a duplex suite with the bedroom upstairs
The bathroom (shower and bath)
the stairs to the bedroom
The view from the room
The view from the living room is not so nice.
Service
A welcome card was witing for us in the room as well as fruits and cakes and 2 bottles of mineral water.
Mini bar was complimentary (Platinum) and refilled every day (as well as coffee capsules and mineral water).
Turndown service was provided every evening.
Dining
We had breakfast at the hotel. The hot food offering was good with eggs cooked to order and enough pastry choices to suit most people. The fruit selection was excellent.
The staff were very attentive and friendly.
We used our drink voucher at the bar for cocktail. Once again the bartender was really friendly (and spoke very good french).
Location
The location is perfect, basically a 30 minute walk max to everywhere touristic in Prague. There are bus and tram stop in front of the hotel and the subway station is 2 minutes walk.
There is a big shopping mall next door (Palladium), with some restaurants and fastfood. There are also lots of restaurant and bar in the neighbourhood.
Overall
This was my first stay my the new All program (mid december).I do not think it is actually linked to the new All program, but the welcome was really fantastic. The Century Old town hotel did everything to make our stay memorable.
I highly recommend this hotel in Prague
