Location

Hampton Inn Montreal is conveniently located at the entrance of Chinatown, with its nearest Metro stations being Place-d'Armes, Champ-de-Mars and Saint Laurent. Coming from the airport, it can be easily accessed by bus 747, followed by a 5-minute walk.

Check In

I arrived at the hotel pretty early in the morning and was honestly expected to be told to come back at a later time.  To my surprise, my room was ready and I was quickly assigned by room key.

A mobile key is also available for those who have the Hilton app.

The front desk also politely briefed me about the various facilities of the hotel and informed me of the time of which breakfast is served.

Room

For just a night, I opted for the most basic room type, which features a King bed, a work station, a microwave, a fridge and a coffee machine.

The room is clean upon entry and appears quite spacious given that I was travelling alone, it also feels quite modern.

The bed itself was super comfy.  After a redeye flight from Vancouver, I passed out pretty quickly on the bed and woke up feeling energised.

Next to the bed is a sofa and a work station with multiple USB charging ports.

One thing worth noting is that the room does appear quite dim when it gets dark, even if all lights are on.  So, if you are looking to get some work done without hurting your eyes, better do it before the sun sets!

The bathroom is stocked with basic amenities such as shampoo, body wash, body lotion and a soap bar.  Towels are also sufficiently provided (well I was just travelling alone).

The minibar, on the other hand, features creamers, UHT milk, single-use cups, sugar, ground coffee and tea bags.

Dining

Breakfast is complimentary for all guests, regardless of elite status, fare types or room types; and is served between 0700 to 1000 daily. It consists of the usual suspects - bacon, scrambeled eggs, sausages and hashbrown. There is also a pancake machine.

Beverages, on the other hand, includes a variety of fruit juice, milk as well as coffee.

The seating area feels spacious and modern.

Overall

Hampton Inns in general are good for value, especially for those travelling in larger groups or with their family.  The rooms are also big enough so that you won't feel cramped.

There are also rooms that come with a kitchenette, which features a stove and an oven.

Priced at an average of $240 CAD (pre-tax) per night for the most basic room type, this hotel is also good for those who wish to save some bucks for accommodation while still being able to have access to a decent room after a long day of sightseeing.

This property is definitely recommended.
