Azur is a luxury option in Queenstown, but not downtown. The property is a quick 5 minute drive through town and transfers to town, including the airport, are complimentary. The property is set on 3.5 acres of native bush with views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables and is tucked back into a residential area. Guests feel like they are pulling up to a home, not to a hotel or lodge.

Azur has a strong emphasis on customization. With the property being so close to town, the rate includes breakfast and pre-dinner drinks and canapes. They do have menu's from most restaurants in Queenstown of all types. The concierge will work with guests to make reservations or even order food to go and pick it up (and plate) for the guests. Breakfast is made to order - guests tell the chef what they would like to eat that morning and she makes it on the spot. Another piece to their customization is the mini bar in the room - all items are complimentary and will be restocked as many times as requested.

The entry room, where guests are greeted and checked in.

Main lodge sitting area with fireplace. Afternoon tea is included in the rate and this room is a popular area to take tea.

Dining area for breakfast or pre-dinner drinks.

The property features 9 rooms, all villas, and all identical. Each villa features a terrace, lounge, fireplace, stand alone shower and bathtub.

A view from the main lodge of the villas, a short walk away.

The lounge area.

Views from the room. Notice the terrace outside.

A have much appreciation for a lodge providing accessories for a soak with a view.

Azur is a great option for luxury in the Queenstown area. They have a unique offering and I think they are a great player in the luxury arena.
