Amsterdam Lounge Access? KLM/Delta flight

We are flying from ORD to JRO via AMS and have a 5 plus hour layover at Amsterdam. I was wondering if there was a way to buy any sort of a lounge pass which will give us access to the KLM lounge at Amsterdam airport. We don't have any status with Delta or KLM but both of us have the Delta Gold card which gives a one day pass at a discount ($25 instead of $50/person) but can't buy one at a discount online, either. I was wondering if we could use the Delta Sky club one day pass to use the KLM lounge?

Can someone tell us what our options are, if any? Can we access any other airlines' lounge? We have club passes from AA and US Air which I think are pretty useless for this trip.

The $25 DL AMEX "visit pass" deal and the $50 Delta Sky Club day pass will not work at KL Crown Lounges (and you also need to buy one for each passenger). They are only good at true Delta Sky Clubs, which the KL Crown Lounges are not. However, the $90 Delta Sky Club 30-day membership is a true Sky Club membership and will get the member and a free guest into the KL lounges. That is probably your best bet.

The other option would be one of the 2 Servisair lounges which you can book online at https://www.executivelounges.com/en/booking/ for 24.50 Euro for each passenger.

There are Priority Pass lounges at AMS, IIRC including Servisair. IME they tend to be quiet and uncrowded, although I haven't tried recently, but not as nice as the KLM lounges.

NB: You have to buy the 30 day pass at a physical Sky Club. The thing you can buy online will not get you into partner lounges.

There are other things to do in AMS.

If visas aren't an issue, you can either take the train into central Amsterdam and walk around or take the tour from the airport.

The airport has a casino (airside in nonschengen), a small art museum, a photo gallery about the history of KLM and AMS, interesting food and drink options, lots of shopping, various seating areas and internet access options, an airside transit hotel for naps and showers, a viewing deck, a land side hotel (Sheraton?) that probably offers day rates, etc.

Your options are:
a.Delta Skyclub membership: either a 30-day SC membership or full SC membership.
b. Paid entry to one of the Servisair lounges which you can book online at https://www.executivelounges.com/en/booking/ for 24.50 Euro for each passenger.
c. Priority Pass membership - via Ameriprise World Elite Mastercard annual charge $150.
d. Priority Pass membership through AMEX Business Platinum
e. Priority Pass membership - direct (costly option)

The personal USA version of the AmEx regular Plat charge card also gives one a free PP (Select) membership, which would work. It excludes UA and allows a certain number (ten?) of free visits per year.

The regular purchased PP membership offers several plans. IIRC you can pay an annual fee of about $130 and then about $30 for lounge use (you and guests), including UA clubs. There's one with ten free visits and a yet more expensive plan with unlimited lounge visits.

The air side transit hotel piqued my interest. Is it inside the airport? How does one go about booking that? I have been to the Schipol airport numerous times and have explored all the options that you mentioned - it is a nice airport. I was more interested in taking a shower/nap since we'll be coming from a long flight from JRO and heading for another long one after.

Yes, it's inside the terminal on the mezzanine level near the nonschengen KLM lounge. If you go upstairs around the casino and then walk down the long narrow hall (going past the displays of old KLM/AMS photos) and keep going, it's eventually IIRC on your left.

I haven't been there in a while, but it was an older version of a modern chain hotel, certainly not fancy and tended to be expensive. I forget the name but the AMS website should include the name and location, perhaps with a link and phone number. In the past, they would rent rooms for blocks of hours, timed from your actual check in, like other transit hotels tend to do.

I have no recent experience with this hotel but others here or especially in the KLM forum might know more. Of course, check Amsterdam as a destination which is in principle where airport information is supposed to reside on FT, although we tend to discuss hubs in the associated airline fora frequently.
