From 01JAN13, Korean Air begins A380 service to Atlanta. Service operates daily on KE035/036 and will reduce to 3 weekly (Day 357; 77W on Day x357) from 01FEB13.

Also it appears that KE033/034 service is to be cancelled from 01FEB13, as reservation is closed. Flight changes was made on Tuesday 14AUG12 local time.

Awesome! ^

And here I was planning on redeeming F from JFK just to fly the 380.

Even with only 3 times a week I can make that work since I am going to by flying one way.

Also I suppose this is the first 380 to go to ATL?

Either way makes planning my trip easier since I drop the connect in NYC. ^

Newbie alert. What does Day 357/x357 all about. Daily 380 until Feb 1 an then the 380 is only 3 flight sets a week and the other 4 are 777.

I'm quite excited about this 380 thing.

Oh, and forget KE 33/34. That midnight departure is HORRIBLE, IMO. What is the redeeming value of that midnight ATL departure though? That being said, I actually did want KE 33 6 PM ICN departure, as it seemed easier for jet lag....

Day <number> is which day. Monday = 1, etc. x<number> means except those days.
eg, Day 26 would be Tuesdays and Saturdays. x3 would be except Wednesdays.

Hope KE 33/34 is not cancelled. Midnight departure from ATL best for sleeping plus can then make morning connecting flights in ICN.

Ah yes, the morning connections, ding ding ding. I forget about those as I never have to connect haha. Otherwise, 4:20 is a crap time to be at ICN as limo buses to my hood don't get rolling until 6.

KE33/34 from 01FEB13 is still closed for reservation for now. But keep in mind airlines usually reduce frequencies when they decide to operate A380 aircraft.

An update to this thread: KE pulled out 380 from ATL route for Jan to Apr, 2013. Substituted by 744 in Jan, 77W from Feb to Apr. It seems 380 goes back to FRA. There are a lot more equipment change and cancellations especially to Japanese routes (yes, Chinese airlines are not the only ones) along with the 380 route change. A surprisingly weak season it is.

HKG will lose A380 service for the month of Jan 2013.

Is KE planning to send the the A380 to ATL after April 2013? I have a booking in late April and May. I'm perfectly content with the 77W or 744, flying that bird in a few weeks.

Bummer. When I saw this thread, I checked my ICN-NRT flights in February, and saw they've switched from the A380 to B777. I hope they switch back before then; I was looking forward to trying out the Celestial Bar.

Currently scheduled from August 2013, however that was the preliminary change for Summer schedule when KE changed from 744 to A380 to ATL in mid-August.

So will the A380s mostly be flying to LA, Frankfurt and NY?
