I will be checking the SYD-LAX leg daily to see if J opens up. Was told by the agent I could rebook the same flight in business class for no change fee if UA releases it. But if we were to change routing/destination/dates then it would be $90 each ticket.
The J class on UA SYD-LAX opened up today. Got my two seats changed over after calling into Aeroplan and holding for 50 mins. An extra $111.60 was needed for taxes/fees (no change fees) but that's well worth it to fly the 14hr leg in business class.
