Before there was a BB button, you would use a button that says something like "add money" or "load money" or "money card" or something like that. That same button is still on your machine, located directly above the BB button --- and you could use either button to the same effect. So, if the BB button disappears, you can still use the old button (I hope).
I can confirm that you can still load Bluebird on the DFW Kate with the missing Bb and MO buttons. Loaded some this morning. I did notice the MC manager walked over and watched me from about ten feet away but she did not say anything to me.
