I tried calling in to see if I could convert to some other card like Travelocity Amex, the agent was quite unhelpful and said Arrival is the only option. Since Barclays has gotten so tight on approvals lately I do not expect to be able to get a second Arrival for the 40k bonus later so will probably cancel this card before the 12/15 cancel deadline. Also would not give me the 10k bonus that some were offered in their letters. Last chance I will call their credit dept during business hours to see if they will approve my recently rejected Lufthansa application if I close this account and move the credit. With two US Airways cards and the AA-US merger just approved I think this is going to get repetitive.
Anyone had any better luck negotiating something?
