I wasn't even thinking about it tonight, just buying cat food... The self-service checkout machine at a recently-remodeled store in Phoenix rejected the swipe. The display on the device said "ICC CARD DETECTED INSERT CARD" or something like that. I did (Andrews FCU Visa) and the transaction went through as EMV.
