When you book it the 'normal' way where the website actually shows it as a connection I understand they are liable to get you on the connecting flight. But if it is entered as 'multiple destinations' and it was delayed would they still be responsible? Using the multiple destinations booking option is something I've always wanted to do especially when I know there are other flights that would allow a long layover but I've always been worried of the situation I just described. Sorry if I don't make sense I'm running on <2 hours of sleep...
You'll be on a single ticket number. LH will know you're connecting.
