Uber-Related Protest Blocks Chile Airport; Man Dies in Traffic

On Monday, a taxi driver-led protest against ride-sharing company Uber held in Santiago, Chile caused an enormous traffic jam on the main road to Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL), and authorities have reported that a 65-year-old man experienced a heart attack while stuck in the jam. According to protesters, Uber has endangered the livelihoods of taxi drivers by replacing their skilled labor with unqualified drivers.

The man was taken to a hospital where he later died.
