TSA Hires More People, Dogs

The increasing waiting times for TSA checkpoints (and the ensuing anger from delayed passengers) have caused the security group to hire more employees to expedite the security process and deploy more canine teams to cover increasing numbers of flyers. TSA Administrator Peter Neffenger said that the organization had gained congressional approval for reversing a previous decision to reduce staffing by 1,700 by the end of September, and will instead train workers in double shifts and graduate approximately 200 workers per week in order to meet increasing demand.

“I’m very excited about getting extra teams here,” said Neffenger about the redeployment of explosives-detection dogs, whose sniff test will allow cleared travelers to move through an expedited screening process like the Precheck program.

Are the dogs replacing the humans behind the security lines? Because that would be the most bang for the buck! Frankly the people who are behind the TSA are utterly useless. Just my two cents.
