Pilot Delays Takeoff Over Bottled Water Shortage

An American Airlines pilot kept his plane waiting on the tarmac of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) for over half an hour due to a lack of bottled water on the aircraft. The pilot announced the reason for the delay to passengers waiting to depart, urging them to “get on the Twitter” and complain to American Airlines about the lack of bottled water. “They only had a little bit for everybody – you can’t do that,” the pilot said. Another member of flight staff explained to a frustrated passenger that it is a federal regulation to keep adequate drinking water aboard flights.
