Investigation Launched in Russia After Plane Slides Off Runway

Russian officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding an Aeroflot flight that careened off of the runway in Kaliningrad. The aircraft, an Airbus A-320, slipped five meters off the runway after landing at Khrabrovo Airport (KGD) in the middle of a blizzard on Tuesday. Crew members and passengers disembarked and no injuries were reported.

Aeroflot will reportedly not comment on the event until it has completed its own independent investigation.
