Huge Glitch Delays Australian Flights

Flights scheduled to depart from Australia are being delayed due to what appears to be a global technical issue with airport passport-processing systems. Enormous lines have gathered at the check-in counters of Sydney Airport (SYD) and Melbourne Airport (MEL) as airport staff attempt to resolve the issue so that flights can resume.

A spokesperson for Melbourne Airport said, “Airlines experiencing difficulty checking-in travelers for international services due to outage of Advanced Passenger Processing system” and went on to add that there is not currently an ETA for the restoration of system processes.
