Hotels Are Starting to Cut Down on Food Waste

The hotel industry will reportedly be cracking down on food waste thanks to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), which has provided a number of projects that hotels across the country will be participating in over the next year. Launched with the backing of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), around 12 properties will be participating in the mission, including ones belonging to Marriott International, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), and Hyatt.

According to Travel Pulse, projects consist of “properly measuring food waste outputs on a regular basis, improving training programs for hotel employees and developing menus that reduce food waste and educate guests.”
