FAA Opens Investigation After Near-Miss at SFO

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has officially opened an investigation after an Air Canada flight narrowly missed colliding with other planes on a busy runway San Francisco International Airport (SFO) last Friday. According to reports, the pilot of the Airbus A320 “inadvertently” lined up to taxi where four other aircraft were located. The pilot was ordered to take another route after an air traffic controller became aware of the situation.

The AC flight was lined up to land on the taxi way adjacent to the Runway they were cleared to land on 28R. 4 planes were on that taxiway waiting to take off on runway 28R.
