Legacy Carrier Offers Pilots 27% Raise

Delta Air Lines has offered a 27 percent raise to its 13,000 pilots over the course of four years. The number is significantly less than the amount proposed by employees during contract negotiations that have gone unresolved since the beginning of 2016.

The proposal was disclosed in a letter to pilots from Chairman of the Delta chapter of the Air Line Pilots Association John Malone. The pilots union has negotiated aggressively with the carrier, claiming that the company’s profits in recent years justify the reversal of pay and benefits reductions deployed in the early 2000s.
