Flight Turns Back: ‘Nasty Smell’ (Weed)

After passengers reported a “nasty smell” – which some compared to marijuana – amidst the cabin, a British Airways flight en route to Crete returned to Gatwick Airport (LGW) Thursday. Upon landing, the aircraft was met by fire crews, though no evidence of drugs was found onboard. Passenger Stuart Barnes said, “We were four rows from the back and the whole area stank. Everyone was saying it was cannabis.”
