Short Review

I had a three night stay there in August. Loved the overall feel of the hotel (mod luxe lodge). Our one bedroom suite had a large, well furnished living room, lovely full kitchen with Sub Zero refrig and washer/dryer. Bathroom is spacious but shower only. My only criticism of the suite was the bedroom. Although well appointed, it barely held a king size bed (11x11) and had a rather small closet. The bed was also a little soft for our taste. We did not try the restaurant but it looked very nice. The fitness room was off the spa and was rather small and windowless(kind of surprising given the lovely spa itself). The concierge staff was helpful, front desk people were great and valet was prompt.
Location is in the new base camp area of Snowmass which is still under construction, though there are some shops and restaurants open there. Staff will be happy to drive you up to the rather sad Snowmass Village in the hotel's fleet of SUV's. Aspen is a ten-fifteen minute drive away and is, of course, fabulous. All in all it was a nice stay (the $160.00 opening rate also helped). Aspen hotels are a notoriously poor value and this, while not in town, offers a very nice alternative at a somewhat lower price point.
