"Junior Suite"

A very plain hotel with perfectly fine service, locations, and rooms, at prices generally lower than other PHX area SPG properties.

Location is good near the 101 and 202, and parking is free (park behind the hotel and go through the pool area for the closest parking).

The Sheraton Club lounge is the only disappointing aspect of the hotel.  The food offerings are very basic, and evening service stops at 7pm.  I have a late evening sweet tooth, and I often visit the lounges in the evening for cookies/cake/etc., and there is none offered here.

The late evening snacks are bagged potato chips, granola bars, and bananas.

Check In

Did mobil check-in prior to arrival.  Everything went smoothly and upgraded to junior suite rather than the regular room I booked.  The hotel evidently has a ton of junior suites and would typically be upgraded with status.

Room

The junior suite should have quotes around "suite" because it is generally just a slightly larger room with a sofa and chair rather than just a chair.

The extra amount of space is nice, but it is not a suite, junior or otherwise.

Bathroom had a sliding wood door that did fine for blocking out sound/light, but it would have been difficult to lock if you actually needed to lock it.

Closet had shelves/dresser in the middle, and while that can be convenient, it does limit the amount of space you have for hanging a large amount of clothes.

AC/TV/etc all worked fine, but no on-demand pay-movie options on TV for kids (or yourself).

Service

Did you dine in restaurants or room service so no interaction with staff.

The staff in the Club Lounge were nice and very friendly, but they also spent time sitting at the tables eating.  It was a very slow time in the Club, so not all that bothered by it, but I cannot recall any other Club with staff eating.

Dining

Did not try restaurants/bars.

The Club Lounge is available for breakfast and evening (open 24 hours for snacks and drinks).

I don't require much in a club lounge, but this is possibly the least inspired lounge offerings that I've visited in the SPG/Marriott portfolio.

Each morning it was, warm scrambled eggs, three types of bagels, one type of white bread for toast, boxed cereal, instant oatmeal, fruit (pineapple, watermelon, canteloup), and the most bland tasting muffins/pastries available.

I'm not at all opposed to eating a industrial manufactured blueberry/cinnamon/banana nut muffins, but these were universally dry and had very little taste.

All of the pastries were dry and tasteless or bad tasting.  Really weird.

Breakfast shuts down at 9am.

Evening food shuts down at 7pm, and it is veggie trays and some form of a hot dish (e.g., fajitas).  Generally very uninspired.

Oddly, there were no desserts offered, and with no food after 7pm, there is limited use of the lounge in the evenings.

The snacks available 24 hours are Lays potato chips, nutra grain bars, and fruit, with sodas/coffee available.

A very very weak lounge overall.

Location

Easily accessible location close to 101 and 202, and only 15 minutes from PHX.

They are about 7 miles from PHX but will send a shuttle to pick you up and take you to the airport.  The shuttle can be used for short trips in the area as well.

There are strip malls relatively close to the hotel, but not many dining options close.

Overall

From a rooms and location standpoint, this is a perfectly fine and very standard hotel.  No problems with the rooms or service at all.

It is just a very plain hotel with plain offerings.

The hotel prices tend to be cheaper than the rates of other Phoenix hotels.  If price were the main consideration, this would be a fine place.
