I have just stayed here for three nights on an aavacations.com deal (hotel was pricey, but airfare was a bargain). I had an 'Exeecutive Suite and it was a very nice spacious room with full kitchen, washer / dryer and a nice big bathtub. The price was comparable to central London (but these packages are a bit rando in hotel pricing), but the room was much much bigger and nicer, and for three nigths much pleasanter.

My dad stayed one night (16000 points) in a King hotel room - no kitchen but lots of space and a big bed - and i was able to cook him dinner in my room and we sat comfortably and chatted for hours over dinner and a bottle of wine.

My breakfast was included and was very good, though the room is small - it is much calmer, pleasanter than most central London hotels.

My room was on the back of the hotel, overlooking a gym where outside broadcast boxing was happenning, whuch made lots of noice all evening and all night as they packed up afterwards - the non-boxing night was fine, but the two nights with boxing were a bit much.. And the trash men came to emoty the bins of the gym and the apartments next door at 5am! The front or the east end of the hotel would probably be quieter and more desirable.

Transportation is painful - the Central Line is 5 minutes away at Bethnal Green but it seems to be packed to bursting at every time of day, which on hot, sticky summer's days is not very pleasant. To get back to Heathrow I opted to go the wrong way to Mile End and take the District Line to Hammersmith and then the Piccadilly - I had seat and space for my luggage and very few steps or walking, but it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Terminal 5.

In summary,I wouldn't do it for one night (the Central Line with lauggage is horrid, but manageable with nothing to carry), but if I needed to be in London for a few days I think it would be a good choice - especially if you want space to chill in an evening (there's not much nightlife around the hotel I don't think).

I never got around to visiting the gym and pool in the basement - apologies for not being able to review that.
