Short Review

A few weeks ago I was in Dallas on business for 2 nights and stayed at the Joule. I have stayed in the past but not since the renovation was complete. On this trip I was only there 2 short nights, but was booked into the new tower with a premier room and have to say I really liked it. I thought a big improvement over the older wing which has some very small rooms. I also much prefer it to the Adolphus next door. My business is within walking distance so the location can't be better as well.
The room was quite large and spacious with high ceilings, and electronic everything! Being a bit if a tech person, I like that and was lucky - everything worked! I had a nice couch at the foot of a large, very comfortable king size bed ( I keep meaning to call about the brand), and a wrap around work service area that could be used as a desk, shelf to put things, and eat room service breakfast in the morning. The room was very comfortable for a single business traveler and I could have easily accommodated my husband had he been traveling with me! The location of my room was also high and quiet. Idid not face the Main Street at my request.

The bathroom was also large with a huge walk in rain shower, two full sinks, but no bath tub. Evidently you can ask for one, but I am not sure if that is the room type or an upgrade. It did not matter to me as I was quite comfortable.

I had dinner with colleagues in the new more casual restaurant ( Charlie Palmers is closed and will open as something else). The new restaurant has a casual southwestern vibe to it and I thought the food was good! Not great, but good, and reasonably priced for a nice hotel. Perfect after flying in from the west coast!

Although I did not use it I stopped by to look at the new spa by E'spa. Since I am here about 1-2 times per year I think I need to try it next time. It looked quite nice. Speaking of L'spa, all of their bugari toiletries are now replaced with L'spa. I am not sure which I prefer, and that probably would not matter to me, but maybe to others. I liked Bulgari, but these seems quite nice too.

Overall I really enjoyed the new tower of the hotel, and would have a hard time going back to the old one. I thought the service was very good, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to show previous guests around like myself.

I don't think this is the Very Best in Dallas, but certainly a strong contender in the downtown market! I will continue to stay there and just make sure to confirm the new tower!
