Solitaire Lodge , Rotorua area

We stayed here at Solitaire due to our first choice being full by the one ( TA ) responsible in reserving dilly dallying . Was hoping not to go ( venture near ) to Rotorua as have been a few times and the sulphur in the air is unpleasant .The TA ( s ) who reserved this and some others ( including some transfers ) had messed up big time .

However , pleased to report that there was none wafting by where we were on Lake Tarawera where this lovely property is located ..

Posting this now to see / test if the FT system bounces this off or gets messed up by a mod like previous TR  .

After a warm welcome by the hosts , we were given a quick tour of the main building where the living / lounge and dining areas / rooms are .

Thankfully , our suite was near the main building as the weather was very variable 

The lounge

Check in was done in suite . We were shown the complimentary drinks and snacks along with other features of the suite 

The room / suite was amongst the smallest on this trip but well laid out and sufficient space since it was at the beginning of our trip . The smallest category of suites in this lodge .
