4-28 to 4-28, still there now as I write this

I would stay here again for starwood pts/stay credit. Otherwise you might be better off staying at Embassy Suites Newark, DE to be closer to nitelife, safer area. I personally stayed her because of stay credits/pt and would prob do so again only for that reason but a good hotel overall in a bad neighborhood.

Major advantage:
1. All suite hotel nice rooms
2. Good bagels
3. Free local calls up to 60 min PER CALL(not per day)
4. Friendly staff
5. Amazing housekeeping

Major disadvantage
1. Neighborhood is bad (cars broken into)
2. Elevators were broken(Beyond control?)
3. Hot/Spicy Buffalo wings arent hot/spicy; avoid the eggs
4. Restaurant, room service, and bar menu all have different prices for same item ($8, 10, 12 for chicken caesar sald, told they are trying to fix it)

Checkin:
Asked about different types of rooms. (Play dumb even though I called a week ago and was told there was smart suite w/ club lounge that u get breakfast coupons on weekends. Want to see how they treat you when you just walk in knowing nothing). Told all rooms are same. After 2 mins admit there are better room for corporate guests. Present plat card. Upgraded. Told club lounge is closed for weekend so only benefit is bathrobes. After min arguing(since told me over phone would get them and embassy suite if stayed there included it in all rates wanted to make sure got them)told would get breakfast coupon just ask in morning..(staff overall was very friendly except for this experience)

At nite told 4 good bars/restaurants to go to. Area is def not the best didn't even try. Driving by confirmed right decision was made. Need to go out go to Newark, DE (10 min) or Philly (25 min) to go out or to eat at good places for most part. Iron hill and Kates in newark, are very nice, and zagats known. Philly has nicks known for roastbeeg. Come back to parking garage $10/nite noticed its fenced in. Have to press button for it to open. Wonder about that (see below)

Morning staff knew about plat/club floor guest. No arguing whatsoever. Some staff knew, I guess nite staff has no clue? No coupon needed even, just walk in and grab buffet breakfast. $2 extra for eggs and potatos. Eggs were horrible and hardish.. Bagels and muffins were very good so no need to upgrade breakfast for future.

Theres a wedding party there who using this hotel for overnite guests, etc. As a result parking lot was full. No matter since I drove to Newark and by time I get back there was a spot. But elevators are broken!!! 15 flights up!!!

Someone else wasn't lucky and parked outside despite paying for garage. Car broken into... Elevator also broken, he walked 15 flights.. Goes to front desk screaming at them. Spit on desk, stuck his toungue on it, and there was a bunch of people unhappy bout walking to their room right behind him. Offering refund of nites charges to 2 of those people on line, but big line behind them. I figure front desk had enuf complaints so I call up from phone (elevator were working in morning). THEY DENY elevators were broken last nite, not being aware I was downstair right b4 on line. But they did say they just got in but only one elevator was broken not all three. Hell the maid even knew bout it. Offered $25 or 2500 star pts. I accepted, feeling dumbfounded someone would lie rather than investitgate a problem and not feeling like I should have to do something dramatic like the other people did or bargain. Besides happy my car wasn't broken into and had spot in parking spot unlike some people and felt bad they had to do with people who pretty much wanted to attack them. Should I have asked why they didn't bother to investigate(ask other employees) or offer me an amt equvalent to other people or should I just leave issue?

No problems, except buffalo wings arent hot nor spicy as promised. Guess it's the regular staff as very friend front desk lady and bartender. Parking lot is just bout empty... Good hotel, with beautiful rooms, which has one service issue(elevator) stuck in a bad neightborhood.

Also note you need room key to get in/out of parking lot. BUT they only set up one room key.. So make sure you have the right key for parking lot at all times.
