Stats

Overall

I can recommend this hotel to both business and leisure travelers. Many people like talking about crime in Brazil. I found this overly hyped. It is just like being in Miami or NYC. You need to be street smart and will be fine.

The staff were all very friendly and approachable. They all spoke English very well, which is a bit rarer in the Brzilian service sector.

Check In

I made the booking about one hour before arriving at the hotel.

The check in went quickly and was friendly. I was thanked for my Ambassador status. I had booked a regular room but was upgraded to an executive suite.

The hotel has an executive lounge, but it is closed. I was told by the restaurant staff that the building's owner demanded the lounge be closed and there are no plans for it to re-open.

As a lounge alternative you can select a la carte from a special bar menu from 18:00-20:00 daily. You can also have breakfast in the morning in the restaurant.

We arrived to the hotel after the happy hours. The manager made an exception for me and allowed me to order from the bar menu.

Room

The bed was comfortable for two persons. There were plenty of outlets available for charging gadgets.IMG_4985.jpeg

The bathroom has blinds if you want more privacy. My travel partner really enjoyed the soaking tub.

This was a leisure stay so I did not need the desk, which I felt was missing.IMG_4989.jpeg

I believe that the mini-bar items may have been included, but I did not test this out.

Dining

IMG_4996.jpeg

There was a separate seating area int the restaurant for status customers.IMG_4994.jpegIMG_4993.jpegIMG_4992.jpegIMG_4995.jpeg

It was also possible to order egg dishes from the wait staff. We were very happy with the selection of food.

The bread was also fresh, which I found to be rather rare in Brazil. I finally did not have hard bread!

Location

The area around the hotel is busy. There are plenty of shops within walking distance. Uber also works well here.

We managed to find free on-street parking.

The hotel is near the beach. The tourist attractions like the Pele Musueum and Coffee Exchange are located on the northern part of the island. The drive from Sao Paulo is a seriously curvy one with lots of traffic. It probably would take 90-120 minutes to get to GRU airport from this hotel. I am not sure if Santos has its own airport.

Amenities

The hotel offers both a kids area and an adults gaming room.

Unfortunately we were unable to get the air hockey machine to work.

Pool

The pool is very modern and in really good condition. There were no people when I visited. The bar was also not staffed.

Gym

The gym was quite spacious and well equipped.

I liked the water dispenser. Better than plastic bottles.
