Pullman Bordeaux Lac is not located downtown Bordeaux, but not far, north adjacent to the convention center and along a lake, as its name indicates. It is a quiet zone with many Accor properties (Novotel and Mercure just feet away). The hotel building is not so nice as you can see on the above picture, but inside is OK. Not the best Pullman in term of design as some things show a bit their age, but it is still very decent and they have started some renovation.

You can reach downtown very easily using the tramway which stops right at the foot at the hotel and for only €1.5.

The hotel a an outdoor swimming pool, but unfortunately the weather was not so good during my stay, so no wish to use it !

Check In

I was very kindly welcome by a very professional attendant who was proud to give me all details about the hotels as well as excellent recommendations for visiting the splendid city of Bordeaux and the best restaurants in town.

I was given the drink voucher and was told that I was upgraded to a junior suite (from a superior room, so this corresponds to a nice double upgrade). I was told that the minibar would be free (it contained only water and soft drinks, but certainly a nice benefit not so frequent at Pullman).

Late check-out at 4pm was granted without problem.

Room

The junior suite was composed of:

- an entrance area where you can easily place your luggage

- a living room with a sofa bed

- the bedroom

- the bathroom with a bathtub

- separate toilets

the living room decorations certainly a bit minimalist and lack a bit of warmth. The bed was very comfortable. Zero noise from inside or outside, despite the room being located very close to the lifts. Bathroom products were Bigelow.

VIP treatment was a bottle of wine. Of course we are in Bordeaux !

Dining

The bar and restaurant :

I had a very good dinner at the restaurant and I used my drink voucher there for a glass of good Bordeaux wine (of course !). Breakfast buffet was good with a large selection of cold items (cheese, smoked salmon, smoked ham, Coppa, dry sausage, fresh fruits, fruit salad, cereals, yoghurts, etc) and a the regular warm ones (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes) + of course the typical French morning pastries (croissants, chocolate bread, etc) and the famous delicious cannelés of Bordeaux.

Service

Minibar was replenished daily. There was an evening turndown service but no water or chocolates was provided at that time (but you have the water from the minibar).

Overall

Overall a very good stay, in a still very decent hotel (despite a need for some renovation but nothing disturbing or shocking). Excellent Platinum treatment at this hotel. Very good staff. A good alternative to a real downtown stay as you can reach downtown in 15 min max with the tramway.
