I travel to Bangkok every year without fail and what I have been doing lately is testing out new Accor hotels each time. I always book hotels with Exectuive/Club Lounges in Bangkok without fail. Having stayed at hotels like Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, Hotel Muse, Pullman King Power, Novotel Siam Square, Novotel Platinum and repeated stays at some of the above. I wanted to try the newly rebranded Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit (Previously beingGrand Millennium Bangkok Sukhumvit) that Accor has just rebranded about 4-6 months ago. I was very much looking forward to my stay.

I booked a Deluxe Executive Room with Lounge Access. The following are thedescriptionsof the room.

38 m (409 sq. ft.), Free internet, Access to Executive Lounge, daily breakfast and refreshments during the day, afternoon tea, evening cocktail, complimentary pressing or laundry maximum 3 pieces per person per stay. Private check-in and check-out.

**A little more infomation before my stay. I was travelling with my parents and hadarranged a surprise for their anniversary. The Hotel was kind enought to extend a upgrade to the next category which was a Executive Suite and provide a extre bed and a discounted rate. The following are thedescriptionsof the Suite.**

57 m/645 sq. ft., Room at the corner, Free internet, Access to Executive Lounge, daily breakfast and refreshments during the day, afternoon tea, evening cocktail, complimentary pressing or laundry max 3 pieces per person per stay. Private check in-out.

Check In

After catching a Taxi from Suvarnabhumi airport, we arrived at the hotel around 3pm. We were then escorted to the Executive Lounge for Check In and then I was privately pulled away by one of the wonderful staff to discuss when to surprise them for their anniversary. The Check In procedue took less than 15 mins by which they told us our benefits as I was Accor Plus Silver (Fun Fact- I was actully Gold already, I just Checked Out of Sofitel Sentosa around 10.30am that day and Checked In to Pullman at 3pm that day) After all the explanations were given,we were then escorted to our Suite on the 11th floor.

Room

We were given Suite 1120 which was located at the corner with a great view of Terminal 21. The following are pictures of the suite.

The Executive Suite was well appointed and very spacious. There are 2 bathrooms, one a full fledge with shower and bathtub while the other just a toilet in the living room. There was sufficient sitting room in the living room and a work desk chair which was very comfortable. The bed was comfy and I had a great night sleep with the standard pillows they gave, although to those who need a softer or harder pillow, there is a pillow menu to tailor you stay.

(To business travellers, this hotels caters to you very well, there is astationery box which has a pen, pencil, correction tape, staplers and paper clips *Photo attached later*)

I paricular liked the bathroom as it has a Jacuzzi function in the bathtub. The bath ammenties were Pullman standard C.O.Bigelow which I find nothing special about it. What I do like is that they provided more than usual which Toothbrush and extra stuff included.

Executive Lounge

I am always veryparticular when it comes to Executive/Club Lounges. Here, at Pullman Grande Sukhumvit the Exectuive Lounge is well appointed however the food offering forAfternoon Tea and Evevning Cocktails could be spruced up. Breakfast offering was good however food offering for the other 2 timings are lacking behind. One thing I must say is the service provided at the Lounge is just Fantastic, Fabulous, Friendly. The service staff here are always smiling and if they do make a mistake, they apologies profusely. The staff here made me feel very welcome and gave a good impression of the managers taking theinitiative to consentrate on service to its guest.

Listed below are the benefits you get at the Executive Lounge

--Personalized, private check-in and check-out at The Executive Club Lounge on the 24th floor, --open daily from06:00 - 23:00hrs.

I particularly liked the French Toast and Pancakes.

Pool

This is my only area of complain, the pool is so small and has no view of sunlight at all. I guess I can't blame Pullman as this was not build under them. The only thing I liked was that inside the changing room, there was a Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Roomwhich was an added touch.

Dining

As I had access to the Executive Lounge, I had 2 choices to thave breakfast, up at the lounge or down at the main restaurant. Buth has its pros and cons, up at the Executive lounge, service is personalised and food is ala minute with a small and limited buffet. Down at the main restaurant, its a full buffet, service is not personalised and is slow at times.

I also had the privileged to have the Seafood Buffet they have during Fridays. With the Accor Plus card, the buffet is definitely reasonable and the quality of the buffet was excellent. If I ever get the chance, I would want to revisit this buffet again.

Overall

My stay here was good, service was good and attention to detail was there. Good value as I bought during one of Accor many sales that I can't keep track of. The hotel has great potential. I notice that the hotel caters alot to the Business travellers. I would say that this hotel can become a Semi Sofitel-Semi Pullman as the service here is really with a thai touch which makes the exerprience even better.
