We travelled to Madrid last September. Weather was fine and taxi from airport was pretty quick. The building is historical and well maintained which give it a certain flavor. We got an upgrade due to Carlson club credit card status.
Breakfast was good and pool in down floor was interesting. Location is good. Within walking distance from city center (~10 minutes walking) and a lot of pubs, restaurants and shopping areas. There is a small restaurant right in front of the hotel as well. Prado museum pretty close. I attached some pictures of our suite.

I would reccomend this property.
