This is a great new hotel in the centre of Moscow. I arrived at Yaroslavsky Station at rush hour on a Friday, but a quick 20 minute journey on the metro, even getting a seat, I arrived at Kievskaya Station. From there it is a quick 5 minute walk to the Novotel.
It is in a centre with shop, and you take lift to 5th floor. Note there is security when you arrive. It is shared building with Ibis/Apartotel and Novotel.
Check In
Open plan reception/bar and resteraunt.
Short wait for check in. Greeted and welcomed as Platinum Member. I had booked Executive Room and was upgraded to Suite. Drinks vouchers were given.
Effiecent check in. One thing that was odd, room was pre-paid and they did not ask about card for extras. I had dinner in resteraunt and signed to room. Once back in room they called wanting money. I explained they had card on file and should charge to room. Seemed to be some confusion but in the end they sorted it.
Service
Everyone here was very friendly, even the security staff at door. Guy's in gym/pool were great. Staff on breakfast/dinner did seem new, and stuggled a bit with English but tried.
Excellent gym and pool area. You enter and one level is gym with good selection and changing rooms. However there is sign to get to pool but door goes no where! You have to go through gym, down stairs to another changing area where sauna and steam are, then up stairs again to pool, odd layout. Very quiet though. Seems mostly business hotel.
Dining
Hit and miss
Had dinner in resteraunt. Menu not great. To be honest next time I would eat out, many place close by. Food was pretty poor.
Breakfast though was excellent, great choice.
Room
Was on 11th floor (12 in total). Room 11211 end room. You enter to living area with work table, larg sofa and TV. Nespresso machine and free bar with soft drinks.
Nice welcome gift.
There is no iron etc, but you can request.
You then see a long corridor with guest toilet, then bathroom just shower but good. Another toilet. Then bedroom with another TV.
Wifi worked, in the end! Was not easy to get connected. Speeds were okay.
Location
Ideal. Near river if you like walk, and a famous old bridge you can walk across then along river.
I took metro 5 (brown line) to Paveletskiy Station to take Airport Express to Domodedovo Airport, very easy and takes just over 1 hour door to door. Only thing was there is a bit of a walk from Metro Line 5 to actual train station, line 2 is nearer.
Nice shops near by and many food outlets.
Overall
Great stay. Always stayed at Hilton before, but now this would be my choice. Good price, great location and great facilities.
