This is one of the first Hampton Inn property in Italy, certainly in Rome.

Location

The hotel is located outside of the city center of Rome, at the outer ring of the Rome.  There is basically nothing much around the hotel except for some offices, warehouses and farm houses/land.  There is a metro station, but that is ~2km away from the hotel.  As far as I can see, there is no shuttle provided by the hotel to anywhere else, so if you are not there with your own transportation, you have to depend on taxi to get to anywhere. [even this will have to be based on calling for one]

The hotel is closer to the Ciampino airport rather than Fumicino airport.  Without traffic it takes about half an hour from Fumicino and about 15 mins to Ciampino.

Check In

I had already done an online check-in.  I arrived rather late, after 10 pm and there bascially no one at all...after a min or two waiting, the associate appeared and I was again checked in.  [Again this shows how useless online check-in is].  What was strange was that even as an european, showing my driving license as evidence was not sufficient and I had to give my ID or passport where a copy was made - I don't remember this as normal in Italy.  Had to also provide a credit card for deposit.  All in all, about 10 mins wasted for these procedures which I cannot understand since doing online check-in means getting to your room faster.  I was given the room as per what I selected during online check-in.

Room

The room was located on the highest floor - hotel has only 2 floors.  The view of the room was towards some farm land/house.  Since the hotel is located [to say in the middle of nowhere] far from the city, and it was a Sunday, it was very quiet.  I doubt that it gets noisy even on workdays.

Room size was ok - it was bascially your typical cookie cutter room of Hampton Inn's.  There was a tea/making facility provided and a working desk.  Internet was ok with a code provided by the front desk - not sure if this is applicable to all guests or just for elite guest.  I tried to login to using my room number/name, but this did not work.

The bathroom was ok from size point with a walk-in shower.  The hotel has shifted to using refillable toiletries rather than the individual ones that you find commonly in US properties.  It was the same brand as used by other European based Hampton Inn's.  Shower was good with good water and temperature control.  There was also a bidet besides the toilet provided [which is common in Italy]

TV selection was ok with both international and local channels with ok quality.  The temperature control in the room was good - not always the case since in italy a lot of hotels will switch off the function.

Bed quality was good - not being too hard nor soft.  Did not hear too much noise coming from the hallway nor room next door, so I assume this would also be the case in general.

Breakfast

As usual in all Hampton Inns, breakfast is included.  The quality and variation was not too bad.  There was 3 hot dishes - sausages, beans and scambled eggs.  I would say it was comparable to other European Hampton Inn's.  They also had a waffle making machine [which made much better waffles than in the US].

Looking at the available sitting, I would say that even if the hotel is full, there would be no issues finding a place to sit as there was lots of sitting around the breakfast area.

Overall

All in all, not too bad of a hotel.  They had quite a few facilities available in the hotel with some modern design.

I would say besides the location, the deciding factor would be the price.  If the hotel can keep it reasonable and having your own transportation [or if the hotel provides a shuttle to the nearby metro station] it would be a decent choice.
