Check In

Smoother than smoonth, a brief moment then a golf cart to my cottage escortec/driven by a gracious and kind young man.

Airport transfer arranged with SYR and was right there on the spot. 

Room

Creek Cottage -- one bedroom with two lovely, spacious decks overlooking what was said to be a creek. But  the oaks and greenery obscured any sight of water riffling over stones, nor was there any sussuration of water rushing along its course. 

The cottage was so very finest kind. Graciously comfortable, well appointed with notes of fun, grace and utility. Just about everything was considered to give guest the best experience.

Bathroom was of the two-sink persuasion. No walk-in shower but the shower tub worked very well for me and I am a rickety old woman. Ordinarilly I would deduct points for this but was surprized by how well it worked.

Comfortable bed with lovely linens and excellent pillows of various sorts. 

Little fridge with free sodas, etc. Free snacks, too. A wine cubboard of which I did not avail myself but room service was accommidating in that respect.

 

 

Service

Well, now. SERVICE. Never in the U.S. have I experienced such kindly and competent service, so unforced. I travel alone these days so this authentic regard and gracious kindness is welcome and instills trust and delight.

Dining

Ate mostly room service which was well delivered and set up. My meals were excellent across the board. Even the apple I scooped up from the bowl at the pool bar was a tasty treat. My diet is salt restricted and the kitchen accommodated this with aplomb. Chilean sea bass, twice for dinner. I may have a new religion.

Location

In Montecito adjacent to Santa Barbara, in the foot hills. Gloriously gardened. 

Overall

LOVE LOVE LOVE. My new easily accessible happy place. Projecting thrice yearly stays.
