Moxy Bucharest Old Town [Master Thread]

During my hotel hopping in Bucharest I gave this hotel a try. It is well located and is available at a really good price point. It is just as centrally located as the Marmorosch.

Of course, you have to like the Moxy brand.

I had to wait for about three minutes until the guests in front of me had been served.

I was not directly welcomed as a titanium guest, but I was offered 500 points or a 10 USD F&B credit. I went for the points. As a nice additionally amenity I was handed a small bottle of sparkling water and a small bottle of Prosecco. It was a nice touch.

I reserved the basic room. I do not believe they upgraded me at all. Looking right now, it seems that I should have been upgraded considering superior rooms with balconies are still available. I have not tried to press this point with the front desk. After all the marginal difference at a Moxy hotel will be rather small.

I find Moxy hotels to be one of the most consistent Bonvoy brands. This room is like all the other Moxy hotels I have been in. It is clean, functional and a bit trendy.

The pillows are not really my style, but you can put them into the closet. :)

The television has a very wider selection of channels in multiple languages, including stations in English offering regular, non-news programming.

There was issue with the shower. Even though I did not shower for a long time and was careful to close the door, much of the water flowed onto the bathroom floor and even got the carpet wet.

The shower is spacious enough and has good water pressure.

There are plenty of towels, sufficient lighting and a hair dryer.

Throughout the room there are plenty of outlets, including USB-A power points.

There is no cupboard in the room. There is just a elongated peg on which you can hang multiple hangers. The room does not have a safe or an ironing board.

As previously mentioned this hotel is very centrally located, near many of the sites. You cannot really be better positioned

As is typical for the brand, the reception is srruounded by a bar.

The breakfast is also brand-true. Very limited offering that you have to collect yourself cafeteria style on a tray. I looked at the offering, but decided to skip it, since I was not hungry. It looked fine  for the brand.

There are many different meeting and co-working spaces spread around the bottom floor. There are also games available, luggage lockers, table soccer, etc. Each time I went through the lobby area there were quite a few people actively interacting. Overall this hotel has quite a vibrant feeling. The overall age average was probably under 30, but I saw people from all age groups.

There is also a small fitness room. It has a very limited number of exercise options.
