I had a one night layover at LAX and from price point this seems to be the best option for my stay especially with a shuttle and distance from the airport.

Location

The property is located close to LAX on the main route towards LAX.  Within the hotel there's a few restaurants and further afield shops.  Outside of this, there are only mainly other hotels surrounding this property.  On-site is also the Hertz car rental facilty.

There is also public transportation options (mainly bus).  The shuttle from the airport to the hotel runs 24/7 and seems to be quite frequent which is a plus point.  I waited less than 10 mins upon arriving at the designated area at LAX.  (For the return, although informed that it runs every 30 mins, I noticed that it was running more often, however this could also be due to the traffic situation)

Check In

In the Hilton app, I noticed that I was upgraded to a King Executive room.  I did not bother to do the online check-in.  The lobby area was in a very festive mode as there was a dance competition ongoing that evening and part of the lobby was used as the dance floor - which did not disrupt guests accessing the lobby area.  There was no other guests at the front desk, so i was helped immediately upon arrival by a very friendly associate.

I was given a run down of my benefits and thanked for my loyalty.   I did ask if I could be given a room with an airport view, and this was provided without any fuss.  The check-in process was fast and I was away to my room within 5 mins of arrival.  I was also offered 2 bottles of water, which I declined.

Room

The access to the floor is controlled by a main control where guests have to key in their floor and the designated elevator will be displayed.  This is the same system employed by the H hotel (down the street) - which is quite efficient in my opinion (rather than everyone cramping into the same and stopping more often).

The room was located on the 15th floor, about 2 rooms away from the elevators.  The room was spacious and had a view towards one of the runways at LAX.  The room was well appointed with a long table which acted as a TV stand, working desk and below this were the mini bar (empty) and the safe.  There was also the usual tea/coffee machine and 2 bottles of water (complimentary).

Close towards the window was a sitting area with a small coffee table.  The room felt modern and furnishing was in good condition. Climate control in the room was good - at low fan speed, there was no fan noise and the temperature control worked well.

The bed was comfortable without being too hard or soft - there was still sufficient support.  Sleep quality was good in general - although exterior noise was still audible from the traffic outside, and in the early part of the nigh the noise of planes taking off was audible - it was not an issue later into the night.  However from the interior - around 11 pm, there was some guests playing some loud music in the hallway (I suspect that it was part of the group participating in the ballroom dance event - as they played within a short time different type of musics stopping every few mins).  After reporting this down to the front desk, this stopped.  Later on during the middle of the night/early morning hours there was some shouting outside which luckily was a just a few mins (but still irritating as that woke me up).  Outside of these incidents, it was not too bad.

The bathroom was on the small side - it definitely could not fit two person at the same time.  Even for one person, it was quite a tight fit.  There was the usual bathtub with the fixed shower head.  The water control and temperature was good.  Toiletries were the usual Crabtree and Evenlyn (although in a different format of packaging).

All in all, the room was sufficient and outside of the different noise incidents, a good appointed room.

HHonor Benefits

Sadly the Executive Lounge at this property was still closed.  With the new policy, I received some credit for use at the hotel, and spend this at the bar for a nightcap.

Overall

All in all, the property served it's purpose and in general most staff are friendly and helpful.   I would recommend this property without any doubt despite the small incidents.
