Mercure Krakow Fabryczna

This hotel is a new entry in the list of Accor hotels , building was completed during covid and hotel opened in 2021

The location was previously a vodka factory , and was abandonned for many years , until developpers started gentryfication of krakow and made a complex out of it = hotel , restaurants , apartments , office , gym , shops , soon to be opened museum about polish vodka , etc ....

Those familiar with Koneser in warsaw will understand what i mean ... however this time the developper went under Accor's umbrella to brand their hotel instead of Marriott's Moxxxy and it is a very good choice

I had an unscheduled saturday night in Krakow , on my way back to Warsaw , so instead of going for the usual (and very convenient) Ibis near railway station , i decided to give a try during spring while prices are not yet in summer 2022 mode

Arrived there by taxi , the driver had issues finding entrance , and then for us to find the hotel itself , this is one issue caused by the fact that this complex has many entrances and all rides app will direct you to their pickup points

After few seconds of searching, i managed to find hotel

Check-in was smooth , status recognized but i had to request the voucher , no upgrade this time , i got what i booked

Then explanations about how hotel works , where is pool and sauna , etc .... Then i was free to go to my room

You can see that hotel was new , i also like the decoration , not just the usual basic materials from ALL but they went a bir further

The hotel is divided between two buildings , so i had to take an elevator as my room was in the other one

The skywalk bridge is located on second floor

It is covered and heated , so no worries about winter , and it gives an overview over parts of fabryczna complex

Booked a Standard Room and got exactly this

No welcome gift , as i booked the day before

Room was a bit small in myn opinion

The architecture is a bit minimalist (not to say its bad) , but reminds me a bit about Tribe

Bed was a regular two persons bed , not small not big , but due to the size of the room i guess larger wouldnt fit there

About the rest i cant remember much cause i dont have so much pictures

One silly detail = (if my memory is correct) no bathrobes are provided in standard rooms by default , only in super rooms and suites

Headed to pool before breakfast in the morning

Before you enter , you need to leave your items in the locker , you need a card to open them

you also have hair dryers available , so they thought about quite a lot of small details

There are lifeguards on duty for the entire time the pool area is open

Quite long for such hotel , i wasnt expecting it

And then the small one for kids

There is also a jacuzzi with hot water streams

The details about both pools are displayed from an LCD screen

I really like such initiative , even in swimming or fitness clubs you rarely see such thing

i havent been able to test the fitness and spa section , was close that day , i will try another time for sure in winter

First lets talk about the restaurant bar

It is located right after check-in area

Quite cozy , but i think they could have decided on better type of chairs

We got our welcome drinks served at our table

To give a full review and also due to lack of time , i invited a friend to join us , as this hotel is not in the city center / old town

Went for different items on the menu to compare

Food was good , but quantities were not enough

One more thing to mention = in order to not pay everytime , we asked to send our orders to my bill , as this restaurant belongs to the hotel

I had to go to reception, ask to make a charge of my credit card and then this will be cleared when i leave . it was done as announced however i got two separate bills , cause i paid for room at check-in , and of course i am 100% sure my F&B spendings werent credited to ALL despite what customer support replied

Next time i will ask to make this charge from the beginning to have everything under single bill

Day after we went for breakfast . It is served in buffet mode in the further section of the restaurant

You can find all the classics of breakfast in polish hotels

Its not my case but any vegan or gluten intolerant will have troubles survive in those hotels

One noticeable difference , because of easter , there were some coloured eggs , because of easter

My choice was quite standard, i knew where i was and wasnt expecting to discover new dishes

In the end , it was just a one night stay , more to try rather than really staying there

The place is nice , i really like the fabriczna complex , however they really need good maps everywhere for new visitors

The hotel looks nice also , i hope they will keep it this way for very long , few minor details to change , some to keep , i should definitely come back and stay longer to get a final opinion about this hotel .

If someone doesnt mind commuting a few minutes more to reach old town , i recommend this hotel
