Elizabeth Bridge Suite

I had an excellent one-night stay at this hotel. I had booked for 50 k points and used an SNA to get upgraded to an Elizabeth Bridge Suite. I had arrived by train to the city. It was a beautiful day, so I just walked to the hotel with my trolley. It took about 35 minutes.

To get to the airport the next day I walked about 10 minutes to the bus stop and had a 30 minute ride. I think the ticket cost 900 HUF, which makes it the most economical way of getting there.

Check In

The check in was very friendly and professional. I was offered a glass of juice or champagne. I went for the champagne option.

Everything about the hotel was explained to me.

My passport and credit card were checked and then I was given physical keys in addition to the electronic key. I ended up just using the physical keys.

My Ambassador status was recognized and I was offered 1000 points of free breakfast. Since I had to leave the next morning fairly early I went for the points.

They offered to take me up to the room to explain the room features. I thankfully declined.

Location

The location is not directly on the river, unlike some of the other options but you still have beautiful views from the rooftop bar. And you are very close to the river and central shopping areas. I really liked the location.

David at the rooftop bar was really an entertaining conversationalist and made some really good cocktails. The other bar guests were all foreigners, but not staying at the hotel. We had some good conversations about travel and the world.

Dining

I did not have time to try out the breakfast, but I did snap a photo on my way out of the hotel of the buffet.

There was also a menu for paid and unpaid a la carte options. To me the buffet looked quite extensive and tasty. There were also some local options.

I did have a beer at the ground level bar on the terrace. The service was fine. The local beer was good.

The room was really nice:

The toilet is Japanes bidet style from the company Grohe. Do not be surprised when it opens up automatically as you approach it!3E0C1506-2068-49CD-A067-9C1C75AEE06F.jpeg

I liked the free standing tub, but did not get an opportunity to try it out. Be careful on the marble floor. I nearly wiped out when it was wet.AFBB0A55-22C7-47C2-9152-AA331E37FED0.jpeg

The room has three balconies to which the doors can all be partially opened. Only the balcony facing the bridge is fully accessible. The double doors meant that you heard nothing from outside when they were closed.8EB9B1A2-EAA7-4CCA-8A6C-F43F25F1DFC7.jpeg

The glass of champagne made the trip with me to the room.7886DE3E-37EE-487E-BEC4-2C66BE056682.jpeg

There is a very small desk which probably would not be usable for proper office work.

Views from the balcony:

Minibar

All rooms that have the word suite in their name come with 1 or 2 free minibars from which all the products are free. Other rooms have free water and soft drinks from the mini bar. This was a cool feature. The minibar is replenished daily. I have to say indulged quite extensively and enjoyed trying some of the local products including snacks. I am happy my room only had 1 minibar, otherwise I might have missed my flight.

I think they did a really nice job with the food and champagne welcome gift:EFE55615-48BB-4FCF-8214-945D1B99A475.jpeg

It arrived while I was walking about the city. A full bottle of champagne. Everything was really tasty.
