Stats

Having stayed in SPG properties in 15 different countries over the years I have to say the Le Meridien Amman goes up to at least one of the best three SPG properties that I have had the pleasure of staying in.

Arrive by taxi from the bus station and my luggage is collected and sent on its way through an x-ray machine before it allowed entrance into the hotel. I grab my backpack while my suitcase is sent to my room.

Check In

Check in is straightforward, my Platinum benefits are explained to me, my key is handed over and the “Guest Relations Officer” escorts me up to my room on the eighth floor.

Room

A two room suite awaits me. Although the views out the windows are non-descript the fixtures in the rooms are very welcoming. Along with the staff who projected the same welcoming feeling during my short stay it made me feel that I never wanted to leave.

Dining

One of the platinum benefits is “eye-opening breakfast” at Cosmo by 3-star Michelin Chef…Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Unfortunately Cosmo is closed for refurbishing but a scaled down version is offered in the Platinum lounge.

5 other restaurants are available on the property, China Town, Benihana, 282 Steaks, La Brasserie and the Lebanese influenced Al Mukhtar.

Service

After 16 hours staying it seems like half a dozen staff escort me out for my taxi to the airport. They all refuse a group photo except for one young man.

Overall

A very pleasant ending for my stay in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Looking forward for another stay some day in the future.
